Absence makes the heart grow fonder… I’ve been travelling for 4 months this year and it’s made me really appreciate my country – England.

We are pretty lucky. We can drink the tap water. We have free health care and a welfare state. Women are free to wear what they want and aren’t constantly hassled. We are free to choose what we do with our lives. We can afford to travel to other countries. And much more.

It ain’t perfect and there’s plenty of people in the UK who don’t have access to these things. But lots of us are pretty privileged. We should aim for a world where everyone can enjoy these freedoms. But until then I feel grateful for the things my country provides for me.

So here is a playlist to pay homage to England made up of songs that make me think of home.
