Striving trying seeking dying
To find a life beyond the sun
To make an inhospitable world a heaven
And live fast while we are briefly young
To find beauty in the grey
And appreciate the stars
And to think
That they are ours
But what if they werenāt
What if we didnāt have to bring heaven down
Because heaven already met us
If we werenāt left alone with āourā stars
But if somebody made them for us
So that as we gaze we see
The impossibility
That we could exist
Alone
So if we donāt exist alone
If thereās someone who made us
Someone who gave us
The stars as a sign
To shine
Why donāt they tell us
Why donāt they speak to us
Why donāt they save us
Why donāt they save us
WHY DONT THEY SAVE US
From this mess weāre in
As our world crumbles
and we are humbled
To admit that we were bad caretakers
But what if that āsomeoneā did tell us
And not only tell us
But bleed and cry and wither and die
Only to rise
To save us
From this fucked up mess weāre in
Which he calls sin
So that we can be free
And we can know him
And one day we will see
The world the way he wanted it to be
All we need to do for now, is turn and believe.
